The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra is proud to present "Cinema Sounds" at the Hilton College Theatre. The concert will take place on Saturday 10 June at 7pm, and will be showcasing some of the most popular music from Hollywood.
Audience members can look forward to music by the great John Williams, which features on the soundtrack to a vast array of Hollywood blockbusters like "Star Wars", "Jurassic Park", "Jaws", and "E.T." In celebrating 20 years since the release of James Cameron's epic "Titanic" in 1997, there will also be a medley by the film's award-winning composer James Horner.
The concert will also include a few numbers to please the classical music lovers too, including Elgar's "Nimrod" from the Enigma Variations, which was used on the soundtrack of the movie "Australia", and Shostakovich's "Jazz Waltz" which featured in Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut".
The performance is suitable for the whole family, and ticket prices range from R120 for adults, and R100 for pensioners, students and scholars.
