Unsecured outside areas.
Please remember to keep valuables safe. There were 5 bicycles stolen this past week from unalarmed areas. Please remember to secure verandas and outbuildings (sheds, garages, cottages and containers) properly and don’t leave items in view from the road.
The UCSI NPC
The Umngeni Community Safety Initiative (UCSI) is a Not-for-Profit Company (NPC) that has been established by members of our community to deter crime through the use of SNIPR ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) CCTV cameras, working alongside SACAN TrackBox Technologies. SNIPR ANPR CCTV cameras have been mounted onto gantries in a few areas, but the UCSI NPC envisages having all the access and egress routes to all our communities (Howick, Howick West, Kwa Mevana, Merrivale, Merrivale Heights, Birnamwood, Mpophomeni, Cedara, Hilton, Worldsview, Winterskloof, Curry’s Post, Karkloof and other surrounding areas, but not limited to these areas) covered by this TrackBox SNIPR ANPR CCTV camera, gantry mounted, technology.
