Erin Fourie\n \nErin Fourie is a Midlands-based musician who first began wo
rking the KZN music scene in 2003. Her love of music was cultivated from a
young age, and she began playing guitar at 13 in her high school music club
. With an Honours in Drama and Performance Studies from UKZN Pietermaritzbu
rg, and later working ad hoc for the Hexagon Theatre, Erin was afforded the
opportunity to perform in several musical productions and many dinner thea
tre music shows at the Hexagon Theatre and the Hexagon Dive under the direc
tion of Peter Mitchell. She was a regular entertainer at Hebron Haven Hotel
for 15 years, as well as at private functions, restaurants, pubs, and musi
c clubs. Further afield her achievements include being a top 10 Idols conte
stant in 2011 and playing Sister Berthe in the Durban Playhouse's 2016 prod
uction of The Sound of Music. Erin’s style is rooted in acoustic folk, pull
ing the songs she likes to play from many genres, and she can often be foun
 d playing at the Karkloof Farmer’s Market.\n \n \n7:40pm: Andrew Versfeld\n
\nAndrew B Versfeld is a multi-instrumentalist well versed in piano, guita
r, drums, and clarinet. He has dabbled in many genres but has ultimately se
ttled on blues and folk. Over the past 15 years, he has played in various b
ands and collaborated with various artists.\n \nHe began his career in Howi
ck, busking and playing at various flea markets. Then he moved to the Drake
nsberg, where he became a regular pianist for Dragon Peaks Restaurant, play
ing gentle blues and soulful jazz while patrons dined. While there, he beca
me a founding member of the Mountain Music Club.\n \nFrom humble beginnings
to touring around Kwa-Zulu Natal, Andrew eventually moved back to Howick t
o set up a studio where he currently produces albums, composes film scores
and runs a YouTube channel.\nAndrew’s piano playing has been described as w
arm and relaxed blues with a little bit of spicy jazz. He loves George Gers
whin, Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, and Billy Joel.\n \n \n7pm: Alan Strang\
n \nAlan returns solo to the MiTH stage after an absence of a couple of yea
rs. He will bring along a miscellany of songs which are dear to him: some o
ld, some new, but invariably melodious.\n \nBeing a native of Scotland, he
was strongly influenced by Scottish, Celtic, and pop and rock genres. As a
long-term resident of South Africa, his musical taste has broadened conside
rably, helped by involvement with the Buskers and TJs Folk Clubs in Johanne
sburg (and by regular attendance at MiTH of course!).\n \nFrom this, many c
ollaborations resulted, with appearances at festivals, including Four Winds
in PE, Barleycorn in Cape Town and many of the early events at Splashy Fen
.\n \nAlan was lucky enough to record many CDs and DVDs with the Waldorf St
ring Band, initially as a backing vocalist, but in its latter years, as a f
ully-fledged band member. He recorded his first and only solo album, “Refle
ctions of a Dreamer”, 30 years ago, on cassette tape (remember those?). You
can find this and the Waldorf String Band recordings on iTunes and YouTube
