St Anne's U19 Players dominate at pre season squash tournament

Georgina Romer Lee and Natalie Rohrs 002History was in the making this weekend when two St Anne’s girls played in the final of the U19 KZN Pre Season Ranking Tournament. Natalie Rohrs and Georgina Romer-Lee both won their semi-final matches and fought for top spot on Saturday morning.

Georgina took the first and third games and Natalie the second and fourth to set up a nail-biting fifth. Natalie raced to an early lead but Georgina, showing determination and a grit, clenched the final to end up top ranked U19 player.

Third and Fourth ranked are Chloe Gearing and Fia de Bruin, both from Epworth School, followed by Georgina Baker and Mia Bradford from St Anne’s, who played each other to finish in Fifth and Sixth place.

A total of 15 girls from all over the province played in the U19 section and to have four players in the top six is a first for St Anne’s.
