We wear Masks which detract from Authentic Living.
Perfectionism is one mask many of us suffer from. It is a reflection of our inner self, mixed with anxiety and fear and people-pleasing. The pursuit of perfection is essentially a way of coping with distress and anxiety. It further aggravates the anxiety by creating unrealistically high standards which are impossible to achieve, which leads to more anxiety and this then becomes the vicious cycle. 🤯
Perfectionists often avoid putting themselves in a vulnerable state by admitting they may have a problem. But by understanding our core fear, this helps us identify how to approach life and to break free from the limiting constraints of toxic perfectionism.
We often mask our vulnerability by overcompensating in the opposite direction, but admitting that help is needed isn’t a sign of weakness, but one of courage, strength, and love. 💜
