'I offer psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children and conduct assessments where needed. I use a person-centred, systems approach to understand individuals in context and to help them solve their problems, grow and heal. A systems approach involves looking at the reciprocal influence of the environment on the individual and individual on the environment. Using this approach means that I often work with the family as a whole when one member is experiencing difficulties in order to help change patterns of behaviour. I particularly love working with children and use play and art therapy to help them process and heal from a range of life issues including bullying, school difficulties or parental divorce which may manifest in challenging behaviours or in anxiety and depression. My special interests are in trauma, abuse, grief, self-cutting and relationships. I am also a qualified equine-assisted psychotherapist and use my horses as co-therapists, where indicated.' shared Wendy Corfe, Counselling Psychologist.
