Terry said, 'I went to a kinesiologist a few years back and I had terrible stomach issues like chronic constipation and ulcers, her daughter gave her some kombucha which she suggested I tried and it helped me. Then I went to Thailand and then on holiday in Bali and found out I was pregnant, I was struggling with my stomach and saw kombucha for sale and so I drank some and once again I felt great! When we returned to Thailand there wasn't any for sale in the small town I stayed in but when we returned my mother in law got a scoby from and friend and we started to make our own kombucha. I believe it helped me heal after my difficult pregnancy as well as restore my energy. It helped me drop all my extra weight, I put on 18 kgs during pregnancy so there was a lot to shed.
I then started researching kombucha and flavouring it and couldn't believe how awesome it tasted, I gave numerous people some for free and they told me it's a miracle drink.
I've always been told I'm a healer and I love helping others so I found a way to do that with kombucha, we started selling it to people at Brendon's work and we kept selling out so I decided to start my own business. I love hearing from others how its helped them. I truly dont know what I would do without kombucha its saved me so much money on hospital and doctor bills for my stomach.'
With regards to turning it into a cocktail, I personally do it all the time ( try Kombucha with white wine and soda or sparkling water). Brendon and I use it as a mix and we often drink a glass before bed to avoid a hangover. It does also contain caffeine so it can give you energy as well, but every thing in moderation as they say because it can make you more dehydrated if you are not drinking enough water.
The "Scoby" eats the sugar so there is less than 3 grams in a 250ml glass of flavoured kombucha, I try use as little sugar as possible. Kombucha is excellent for lowering blood sugar and I have a few diabetic customers that have been told to drink it.'
