Although the cold weather is around the corner, we still have some autumn bloomers that would be a great addition to most gardens, namely salvia and plectranthus.
Salvia are perennial plants, known for their long flowering periods and diverse colours. They prefer sun to semi-shade and we have both indigenous and exotic varieties.
Plectranthus, also perennial, are known for their mass display of colour, especially in late summer and autumn. They prefer semi-shade to shade and are indigenous.
Both are reasonably low-maintenance plants and attract bees and butterflies.
