Grace College lived up to the "Afrikaners is plesierig" motto recently when we enjoyed an Afrikaans Festival at the school. Various traditional games, such as tug-of-war, sack races, egg-and-spoon races and three-legged races were enjoyed amidst a very jovial atmosphere. Pupils also cooked "stokbrood" on the fire and had much fun learning some traditional dance moves. The evening was rounded off by watching the movie, "Platteland". Grace College would like to thank the Afrikaans Teachers, Ms. Homann, Mrs. Gevers and Mrs. Botha for organizing a most enjoyable event.Pictured: Grace College pupils enjoying the Afrikaans Festival.
