Albany Bread recently ran a contest for schools to collect bread bags. Laddsworth Primary School participated with their usual enthusiasm and their efforts were rewarded with a cheque for R10 000.00! 11 716 bags were collected, the Grade 4 pupils collected the most followed by the Grade two's. Overall the project was extremely well supported throughout the school.
All the bags will be recycled by Albany. This contest created enviromental awareness for pupils, staff and parents. The children learned a new skill as they were taught to fold the bags into neat triangles to make them easy to store and collect.
