Starlight Nativity, hosted by One Life Church, has become an annual highlight for the capital of KZN, where the Christmas story and celebration comes vividly to life once again at 69 Worlds View Road - a venue with a truly sparkling view of the city of Pietermaritzburg. An excess of 5000 people attended last year's event, and this year looks set to break those attendance records, as the three-night event takes place from 1-3 December.
Each evening features carols and live music for the whole family to enjoy, including classics such as Silent Night, Joy To The World, Oh Holy Night and Angels We Have Heard On High. The Christmas musical will be performed from an outdoor theatre under the stars, in what promises to be a festive atmosphere for the whole family.
There will be plenty of delicious food and drinks, as well as activities and games for children. From camel rides to petting pens - including sheep, rabbits and horses – you’re sure to be well entertained. The Christmas narrative is brought to life through various interactive scenes staged at six different stalls, each capturing a special moment of the Nativity story.
This year also has additional highlights with the introduction of sleigh rides through the forest and a Winter Wonderland Photo Booth... complete with a snow machine! It is definitely worth bringing family and friends to this – one of the most exciting events of the year!
The event takes place over three consecutive nights, from 1-3 December from 5-9pm. Entrance for adults is R30 per person; entrance for children (under 12 years) is R15 per child. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Worlds View Conservancy to assist with the preservation of the area. There is plenty of free, secure parking.
