'COVID-19 2020. Level 4 Lockdown, Day 60 (25 May), 21 343 positive cases identified, 10104 recoveries and 1218 new cases daily.
I am very proud to be part of this country and stand behind our President Cyril Ramaphosa, who I believe made the right call at the right time. Then, like most of my fellow South Africans, I feel that the new normal seems to get the better of me at times. I have done lockdown clean up and clear up, I have done catch up and skilled up. Instead of a family holiday in Mozambique, we had a family holiday in our beautiful home in Garlington. I have noticed that we need to service our lawnmower and what a blessing our gardener is and I can’t wait for him to return, but I have also loved getting stuck in and given my roses the TLC they deserve by getting on my hands and knees weeding and pruning, I have the blisters and scratches to prove it. I have loved spending the time with my kids and being involved with their school work, art projects, board games and discovering their love for the culinary art - hopefully they will take over the weekly dinner preparations soon but it might consist of Malva pudding and plain spaghetti!
Even though my personal life has kept me busy I have loved catching up with clients and have found that the property enquiries have increased. I am not sure whether this is due to people having more time to browse or because people can’t afford their bonds due to cut salaries and uncertain times. One thing is for sure, we all need a home and that won’t ever change.
At this point I would like to quote a message from Queen Elizabeth II, we all need to “Keep Calm and Carry On” or rather “Keep Calm and Mask On”
