One of the fundamental principles of a Hiltonian is to look beyond themselves. Currently, thousands are suffering – families are forced into overcrowded homes, with no money or food to sustain them during these tough times. Now more than ever, it is our responsibility, to find ways to help those most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.During lockdown in the month of May, many of our boys, their families and staff members participated in the Run for Africa, Run for Lives initiative. The goal was to collectively run the length of Africa, a distance of 11 172km in one month. A total distance of 11295km was achieved, reaching the goal and in the process, R110 000.00 was raised. This money has been donated to 3 organisations to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic:
·iThemba Projects here in the Midlands
·The Domino Foundation in Durban
·Witkoppen Clinic in Johannesburg
Many thanks and congratulations to everyone who participated in this Initiative. Special mention must go to Brett Geyser, Hlumelo Notshe and Costi Christodoulou for getting this initiative off the ground and encouraging participation. Well done to all of you.
