Shannon Harley, the founder of the Buzz Board range, was always looking for ways to make life a little more organised. She found it difficult to source calendars or planners specific to her boys’ individual needs and school mornings were chaotic, to say the least. After consulting with various other parents as well as educators (mainly Janet Anderson), she designed a magnetic white board with activity icons to help make mornings more organised and encourage kids to pack their own bags. This soon took off and led to the creation of the Buzz Board range which is endorsed and sold by Janet Anderson, a specialist remedial teacher.
The Buzz Board School Activity planner is an A3 magnetic white board for the fridge to help busy kids plan their weekly sports and activities. The board comes with 40 activity magnets covering every sport and activity that kids partake in on a daily basis. The activity magnets have words as well as pictures, which allows kids who can't read to still plan their days and pack their own bags. This encourages picture-word association and responsibility.
The reward boards are A4 magnetic, dry wipe boards and come with stars and reward icons. Simply write in their aims for the week and once they are achieved, rub them out and add new ones. These little boards are a best seller!
The latest addition to the range is the magnetic Chore Charts! Kids can move their daily chores from the “To Do” column to the “Done” column and feel a great sense of satisfaction as they see all their tasks moving from left to right.
They also have a magnetic Monthly Planner whiteboard available for fridges. These are very popular with teens and adults alike.
The best feature of the Buzz Boards is the reaction from the kids. They love the sense of responsibility and forward planning it gives them. They now have the ability to glance at the board each morning and pack their own bags, complete their chores, and plan their own days.
