Schools in Hilton, Howick and Pietermaritzburg will be taking part in the Great Schools’ Bake-Off at The Quarry Centre in Hilton, on Saturday, 16th October from 8am-12pm.
Not only will learners, parents and teachers produce a delicious spread of home-baked treats but each school will also present a “showstopper” which will be judged by Jackie Cameron from Jackie Cameron School of Food and Wine; Kershni Naidoo, owner of Cakes by Kersh and former contestant on the Great South African Bake-Off; Shan Ford from Cake Away, as well as a fairy princess from the Fairytale Express.
The public will also have a say in who wins and will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite “showstopper”. There is over R15,000 in prize money up for grabs for the winning schools as well as lucky draw prizes.
Everyone is welcome to attend, pick up some delicious home-made treats for the weekend and enjoy a lovely morning out in support of our local schools, with live music and entertainment for the whole family.
All proceeds from the sale of cakes and baked goods will go towards each school’s fundraising efforts.
