KSS received information from SACan regarding a white double cab Toyota Hilux. The information received was that this vehicle possibly had stolen cell phone tower batteries in it.KSS member's located the vehicle, as well as a white double cab Nissan Hardbody on the N3, near Hilton.
These two vehicles then made their way onto the R617 towards Boston. The vehicles were followed by members of KSS, Sompisi Protection Services and Magma security.
The vehicles were stopped in Boston by the above mentioned security services as well as Boston SAPS. The vehicles and occupants were searched and there were no cell phone batteries found. The vehicles and occupants were then free to go. Both the Toyota Hilux and Nissan Hardbody were then loaded onto the UCSI camera system, as watch and monitor vehicles.
Later in the day KSS received information that there were two suspects in those same two vehicles with outstanding warrants of arrest. At approximately 15h30 KSS received a UCSI gantry activation that these two vehicles were on their way back from Boston. Members from KSS, Sompisi Protection Services and MI7 immediately acted on this activation. The two vehicles were located on the R617 where a vehicle chase ensued. The pursuit took place on the N3 highway, north bound. The Nissan Hardbody was stopped at the Howick Tweedie off ramp where one of the wanted suspects was apprehended and handed over to Howick SAPS for further investigation. The Toyota Hilux unfortunately managed to evade all security services. A successful day for all involved.
