We're proud to launch our new Here and Now exhibition. The mural and storytelling experience is a collaboration between mural artist Jono Hornby, and writer Jaqui Hiltermann.
Here and Now is a rich audio-visual commentary on the present, and an exploration of contemporary issues, merging an expansive character-filled mural, with narrated stories.
This exhibition hopes to reveal that by using art and storytelling as a lens, we can open up channels of discourse, and show that there’s so much more to stories and images than meets the eye. Here and Now is about thinking, listening, and observing– with lashings of colour, quirkiness, and imagination.
We believe that art isn’t “private collections” and it shouldn’t need a manual or a secret decoder ring to interpret. It’s about sharing stories, conversations, and snapshots of society, about navigating tensions, juxtapositions, and ambiguities. It’s about being immersed in the here and now.
Tickets for the 30 minute experience are R80. As this is an audio-visual experience, please bring your cellphone and headphones. (There are headphones for sale.)
Artists on display include Kristin Yang, Luke Falconer, Muzi Ndlela, Siyabonga Sikosana and Werner Goss-Ross.
