'My name is Belinda de la Mare. I am a wife, a mother of 3 lovely girls and the owner of Hilton Garden Centre with which I share my time as an artist.I have no formal training but come from a creative family and I love to paint, draw and experiment with any creative techniques. I particularly enjoy using coloured pencils and pan pastels which allow me to explore colour and put the detail, which I adore, into my work which is mostly realistic in style.
I have drawn a variety of subjects but am passionate about horses so tend to use them as my subject matter most if the time. I adore the personalities and expressions of horses that I try to capture, as well as the grace, power and form that they provide. Living in the KZN Midlands means I am never short of inspiration.'
