Jono Hornby has been painting public art in Hilton since 2016– but long before then he was leaving his mark on hidden spaces, honing his craft. You'll have seen some of his landmarks appear in Hilton over the years... The Flower Bridge, Jazz Man, Gogo, the much loved Rainbow Bridge, to name a few.
Jono has been planning his https://www.facebook.com/welcometoBOOMTOWN BOOMTOWN mural for over four months, and this a particularly special mural as it marks the beginning of Gallery ZAZA's "Jackal and Hare Tour".
The Jackal and Hare Tour is about memory, nostalgia, and imagination. The idea is that this mural is chapter one of a series of murals, and it gives birth to two extraordinary characters, The Jackal (aimed at adults) and The Hare (aimed at children).
Chapter One has been sponsored by RE/MAX Midlands and will be painted on the electricity building on Hilton Avenue. This mural is the beginning of a walking adventure tour to find the next chapters of The Jackal and Hare story as they develop.
A big thank you to Blake and Hilton Build It for plastering and painting the building, and of course to RE/MAX Midlands for their generous sponsorship.
Welcome to BOOMTOWN!
