Hundreds of art lovers walked down a red carpet at Harrington House last night to feast on art, food, song, and friendship. Hilton’s very first ART in the Country has opened to a dazzle of applause. Beautifully laid out with a vast stretch tent leading into the exhibitor’s area, day visitors will bask in the country views as they enjoy street food by Jackie Cameron, Pancakes by Hilton’s scouts, coffee, drinks and the delightful tones of multi-lingual singer Rene Tshikanyi.
It is incredibly satisfying to note that amongst the 45 artists showing their work at this prestigous event, our own KZN Midlands based artists make up the overwhelming majority.
Kathy Jacob, convenor of ART in the Country, together with sponsors including and not limited to; Harcourts Hilton, Land Rover, PnP The Avenues, Harrington House, Wedgewood Nougat and Romesco Olives, has realised a beautiful dream that will remain a gem in Hilton’s crown. While you can be assured that this occasion will happen each year, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the landmark first show this weekend.
