The annual Hilton Junior Tennis Tournament was held over the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June 2022. Due to the pandemic, it has been 3 years since we have hosted the Hilton Junior Tournament so for many children it was their first time to enter such an event. We were blessed with perfect sunshine and all matches were comfortably completed within the weekend; singles on the Saturday and doubles on the Sunday morning.Entries were better than expected considering that families were not used to planning holidays around this tournament – but for once, the private schools and government schools broke up at the same time. A total of 53 children competed this year in age groups that included: Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and Under 18. Thanks must go to Mitch Deetlifs and his team of coaches, Jordache, Richard, Charles and Mark for making the organisation look easy.
The tennis was played in such a positive spirit with many parents commenting on the significant improvement in their children’s tennis over the two days. Here are the results of all age groups:
