The Hilton Adult Tennis Tournament brought together players from as far away as Durban and Klerksdorp for a weekend filled with delightful matches and camaraderie on 27 and 28 June 2026. The weather was glorious, spirits were high, and players completed all their matches comfortably, showcasing their tennis skills in a lively and friendly atmosphere.
The ages of the enthusiastic competitors ranged from 12 to 81 years old. They participated in men’s and ladies’ doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday. Although entries were slightly lower than in previous years due clashes with Durban events and school holidays, the energy and camaraderie of the event was superb.
Very special thanks must goes to Hilton Quarry Spar, whose generous sponsorship provided not only hampers for the winners but also delicious meals throughout the weekend. Additional support came from local businesses including The Cure House, Hopewell’s, Howick Auto Electrical and Hilton Honey Farms. Hilton Tennis Club members contributed generously to the prizes by donating bottles of wine and baking delicious cakes for morning and afternoon tea.
With friendship, competition, and community spirit on full display, this year's tournament was a resounding success. Here are the results:

The Buwalda and Wessels Trophy for best sportsmanship went to Nosipho Makhanya for her encouragement of opponents and cheerful disposition.
The Hilton Adult Tennis Tournament continues to be an annual highlight of the local sports calendar, bringing together tennis enthusiasts for a fun-filled weekend that celebrates skillful tennis, old friendships, and the love of the game!
