This past week our outreach team held a clinic in the neighbouring kaZayeka district of Sweetwaters.
65 dogs and 9 cats were vaccinated for rabies. In addition, deworming treatment was also given to all, including a very young litter of puppies.
Educational material and some kibble was distributed to those attending.
There is a huge need for these kinds of outreach programs in South Africa. Sadly there is limited funding and available resources to meet the demands. Funda Nenja plays it's part as best we can.

Funda Nenja roughly means 'learning with your dog'.
It is a programme which aims to educate children and the community; care and responsibility for animals and at the same time develop respect and compassion for all living creatures through the medium of dog training classes.
The programme focuses on educating children while addressing animal welfare issues . Funda Nenja also focuses on child well-being by using the services of a social worker and promoting skills development for the youth.
