Lockdown has made us aware of the pressing need to aid the needy in accessing essential basics. We have completed an exercise to uncover the easiest and best method of assisting those who are less privileged at this time. We believe in giving with dignity and ask that every Hilton resident donates what they can through an initiative headed up by Robyn Gruiters, namely Action in Isolation.Action steps follow;

They have an arrangement with Pick n Pay in Howick, who supply food parcels for R120 each. Sufficient items therein for a family of 3-4 to survive for 2 weeks.
They have a donations trolley at Hilton Quarry Spar, feel free to pop an item in when you are next shopping!
Or alternatively, you are welcome to deliver donations to Oasis Church Howick, weekdays between 9 and 12 noon. These can be frozen meals or soup, fresh produce, non-perishables, toiletries etc.
Items needed:
• Mielie Meal
• Rice
• Sugar
• Tea
• Oil
• Tin fish or tins of baked beans
• Soup or Soya mince
Toiletries:
• Face cloth, soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels

As their NPO application was mid-process when lockdown occurred, they are operating as an affiliate to Symphonia for Africa who will facilitate the certificate required if coordinated upfront.
All necessary permits they need to work at this time have been confirmed.
