This is a summary of the results received from 248 respondents to a survey circulated by The Hilton Ratepayers’ Association in February and March 2021.The tables below reflect the outcome of a survey conducted by the HRA. The sample is large enough to conclude that the opinions reflect those of the Hilton population at large. Clearly there is a high level of dissatisfaction with service delivery from Msunduzi and uMngeni Municipalities.
The HRA has always wished to create a cooperative and friendly working environment with the Municipalities and does not favour drastic action such as rate boycotts. However, we do believe that the least ratepayers can expect is a credible budget, especially with respect to revenue that addresses the various issues around service delivery and maintenance.
This is the approach that most respondents to the survey seem to favour and the HRA will pursue this as vigorously as we can.
