More than 1000 NILD Educational Therapists are employed in 35 different countries. NILD South Africa employs over 100 trained and certified NILD Educational Therapists across the country. Our therapists have extensive graduate-level training and are passionate, skilled and empathetic in their efforts to strengthen cognitive weaknesses, instil confidence and competence and transform struggling learners into lifelong learners.
NILD Educational Therapy ® is a direct, language-based intervention programme for students with learning difficulties. Our focus is to strengthen the underlying causes of learning difficulties rather than simply treating the symptoms.
Individualised (NILD) Educational Therapy is ideally given twice weekly in 60-minute sessions or as discussed with your NILD therapist. We believe that all students can learn and that the brain is malleable, at all stages of development when mediated intentionally, individually, and intensively.
The NILD programme encourages students to become independent learners by increasing their self-esteem, cognitive competencies and addressing the underlying causes of learning difficulties.
The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) recognised the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) for adhering to the IDA's Knowledge and Practice Standards for Reading Teachers.
By being recognised and awarded accreditation by IDA, NILD joins only one other organisation and nine universities in the United States. This unbiased review included a thorough examination of course syllabi, other training materials, and therapist certification requirements.
