ACCOMMODATION:

Situated just off the N3 highway, 3.6 km from Hilton and close to popular sporting, cycling and trail running routes, Harrington House is a convenient location for parents of local schools. Hospital visitors, and couples or families seeking a Midlands weekend or midweek getaway. We offer:

Unit 7: which doubles as our Bridal Suite during wedding weekends, is a stunning open plan room, boasting a king bed, sleeper couch, oval bath, massive shower, separate equipped kitchenette, private garden with covered verandah, and under cover parking. It has full DSTV and uncapped Wifi and easy access to the communal pool and braai area. This elegant suite can sleep a family of 4; but is also ideal for a romantic getaway for two.

Units 8 and 9 each have a king bed and full bathroom, bay windows and French doors leading onto private porch areas. They too offer full DSTV, uncapped WIFI, under cover parking, and equipped cooking facilities. They each sleep two guests.

Midlands Wedding Venue:
Our family-run wedding venue has all the ingredients to make your big day a magical one - beautiful grounds, country views, stylish touches, attention to every detail - all within 15 minutes of Pietermaritzburg. Our main venue hosts 30 to 120 guests; and our marquee site, which is equipped with 7 toilets and 20 plug points, hosts from 120 to 400 guests. Our 100 KVA generator ensures no interruption to your celebration.

Harrington House provides the perfect country escape, with state-of-the-art facilities. Our high density projectors, uncapped WIFI, aircon and cosy fireplaces, together with our professional, friendly staff who take care of all the details, ensure you can focus on the business of doing business.

Family Functions:
From weddings to birthday dinners, engagement parties, proposals, wine clubs, kitchen teas, baby showers and more, our flexible venue welcomes all your favourite functions. Be sure to ask about our Magical Faraway Tree and newly developed marquee site. Managers Rob and Jen Ortlepp are resident on the property, on hand to welcome you and ensure your every comfort and convenience.

A name etched in history
Harrington House is named after Caroline Harrington, Jen's great-grandmother who was the third wife of the Mayor of London. Caroline Harrington’s home was a very formal one, but because she was 20 years her husband’s junior, she added a great element of relaxation, fun and laughter.

Harrington House aims to emulate the dynamic of the Harrington household - a high standard of service and amenities in a relaxed, happy, and fun environment.
